Your Childs Future

It take a village to raise your child.  Get down on their level and become involved in their lives.  Sometimes this is easier said then done.  You have worked all day and sometimes you just want to come home and rest.  That is understandable.  However it is very important to get involved.  The classroom load for a teacher can be heavy and your child will not get everything they from the school.  It is so important for the parents or grandparents to  be active in the learning process.

Here are some ways to do that.

Bath time fun.  Run through some flash cards or read a book to them while they are in the bath. Munchkin Munchkin Bath Letters and Numbers can help them have fun in the bath and learn their numbers and letters.

Have dinner with your kids.  It is said that children are happier and healthier if you make time to sit down for diner.  It is so easy to get into a rut of sitting in front of the TV for dinner.  When you sit in front of the TV, your brain tends to be less mindful of the amount of food you are eating and you run the risk of over eating.  Take this opportunity to sit down at the dinner table and teach your kids with flash cards or multiple choice questions, related to topics that your kids are learning.  You just might learn something as well.

While doing the grocery shopping you can play find the letter or number game.  There are lots of numbers and letters in a store.  Rhyming as you go down the rows at the store is also a good way to involve learning in every day events.  When they get older you can have them find things on your list, like a scavenger hunt.  I have ready made list made up before I go to the store and it is a lot more fun then the boring old shopping list.

Help your children learn. Take what ever time you have to get involved.  You will see a difference in the relationship you have with your kids. It will mean the world to them.
